Storage Tips

Storage is something that only seems to show up and make its presence known a few times a year for most people. Think about it for just a second: when we don’t need to put anything up for a period of time, we forget that we even have a storage space. But when certain points in the year hit, well, storage makes is once again relevant to most homeowners.

Right now happens to be one of those times of the year when storage is a thing that people remember, and that’s for two reasons. First, there’s the problem of putting summer and “cool” clothes in storage since they won’t have much use outside of the warmer seasons (and subsequently getting your winter gear out to keep warm when it cools off). Secondly, there’s the holidays. Why are those important to storage? Well, it’s because of decorations.

You see, I’m accustomed to using my storage more for decorations from one holiday to the next than I am for anything else. Sure, I put a few seasonal clothes up a few times a year, but it’s not a lot since I don’t own that many clothes. But when it comes to putting up props and decorations for certain seasons or holidays, well, I’m a master at that thanks to my mom. You wouldn’t believe the amount of holiday decorations we had growing up, and because of that, shipping boxes were strewn everywhere upon the floors when November rolled around.

That doesn’t go to say that everyone is like this or must be like this. But since it’s the end of October, it’s pretty common for people to start digging into random boxes in their basement looking for ornaments or fall decor or whatever. Or, they’re used to pulling out warm clothes to wear since they’ve been stashed away for the summer.

No matter how you choose to make use of your excess shipping boxes and plastic totes, it’s important to label your storage boxes simply because finding things becomes SO much easier than it ever would with just random blank boxes. Just don’t forget to slap some labeling tape on boxes and take a sharpie to each, labeling your boxes as accurately as possible.

Before you know it, spring will be here once again and you’ll be digging through storage once more for shorts and tees while also getting out your spring decor. It’s a fun cycle, isn’t it?

The Best Packaging for Fragrances

Fragrances are something that are an assault in the best way possible on your olfactory senses, making it a true delight. It’s something that needs to have a good smell, but also improve the packaging that’ll level up the brand immensely. You want to also focus on the visual aspects of this, how the perfumes are bottled, and the packaging that makes the unboxing experience one that’s truly magical. Here are some perfume brands that have taken their packaging to the next level, truly creating a magical experience.

Grandiflora

This is a perfume company that’s one of the first out there. They used something different from the other brands, a rigid box, with a box and insert that’s custom-made to make the product stay there and is properly packaged. The insert will keep the bottle in one place, preventing breakage and damage when they’re shipped.

They also involve a slot that holds the card, allowing the customer to offer the items that are within the box, without having to look directly for the cards there. They also have a magnolia print too, which is a big inspiration for the company, and it’s also something that keeps the theme going.

F W Perfumes

This is a perfume packaging that’s literally just a box of folding cartons, with some print near the outside, assembling all of this together inside a lightweight package, which is ideal for bulk shipping. The outside printing offers more of a push for the color and the appeal, with the label as well matching the outside of the box, making it easier than ever for you to track a package.

Boxes are great for displaying on your shelves too, so if you want to work on trying to expose the brand to others, this is actually one of the best out there that does just that.

Le Labo

This is another one that does keep their branding in their packaging, making sure to let others know about how they are natural and organic.

They use a kraft mailer package, which has their logo printed on it.  They make sure as well that the box is easy for those who buy it to unpack, and also protects the perfumes, while also being eco-friendly in most cases.

They also secure their boxes with custom stickers, making it easy to seal. They include different tissue paper colors to protect the package and look pretty.

The biggest point with this one, is the kraft mailer boxes. They don’t require any plastic to make and are super eco friendly. You can also print water-based ink on this too, and also soy-based ink on this, to make it even better.

Pure Sense

This is one of the most unique types of perfumes, which are great for those who want to get the smell and really connect with it.

They make it super unique by making sure that the information is useful for everyone.

The accessibility of their packaging knows no bounds. They even include braille on it, so that those who are blind can read it.  They also utilize double layered packaging, making sure that it’s totally safe when being transported, and you also get the feeling that it’s packed, but not too packed. Once the tear strip is gotten rid of, the customers can further utilize the rigid box in order to store the perfumes, rather than keeping it in the open.

These companies are doing perfume differently and are great options for perfume packaging if you have no way of knowing where you want to begin with  this.

Build Your Brand With Custom Packaging

The need for distinctive packaging is nothing new in the retail world. In the modern world, however, the first time many consumers will interact with a product is through the mail. Shipping boxes and materials are just one of many ways in which some of the most successful brands have branched out to find new and creative ways of presenting their product. Custom shipping materials can make opening a package an experience in and of itself. Here are 5 ways to make your brand stand out with custom shipping materials.

1. Custom Printed Shipping Boxes

Amazon and Wal-Mart are just two of the major retailers that have invested in custom boxes that create anticipation the moment they arrive. People who order products online rarely only purchase one product. Custom boxes ensure your delivery stands out from the crowd. Whether you get an entire box printed or just your logo on the top or sides, a custom box is the first step to getting your brand noticed.

2. Custom Bags

When you go to a gourmet restaurant, they don't just slap food on a plate and serve it. They take time and care with the presentation. The same can be true for your brand. Your customers can open a box filled with plain brown paper and bubble wrap, or they can open a box filled with tissue paper nesting a beautiful custom bag containing their product. Some products don't even need boxes to ship, so you can simply opt for a custom shipping bag instead.

3. Custom Shipping Tape

If you run a smaller business and don't have the money to invest in printed boxes, custom shipping tape can do the trick almost as well. Even better is if you can pair a custom box with custom shipping tape. In fact, you can design your box and tape at the same time to pair well with each other.

4. Inserts

If a customer bought one product from you and they like it, chances are good they will want to buy more. You can take this opportunity to show them what else is available, with custom printed inserts. Even better is if you include a coupon on your inserts for a discount on your next order. Inserts are also a great way to barter with complementary businesses. For instance, if you create custom jewelry, you can partner with another business owner that sells other custom made items such as scarves or hats and include inserts in each other's packages. That way, you don't just send your customers a great product, you also introduce them to another great brand as well.

5. Custom Made Boxes

Custom boxes don't just stand out from the crowd, but they are actually a treat to open. You can have slogans, sayings or even instructions printed on the inside of the box and even have partitions and slots custom designed to fit your products so snugly there is no need for any additional packing materials.

As much as possible, you want to make the experience of receiving a package from your company akin to that of receiving a gift. In the digital world, your customers may never interact with your product in a store or even with a sales person. If you want to make interaction with your product a great experience, you need to start with the package it arrives in.

Internal packaging also plays a role in this to. You don’t have to break the bank with this either. Using tissue paper can help, and even adding a small little bit of pattern to that can help to make it feel a little bit more in the season, and it feels more like a Christmas gift during the holidays.

Have notes

Little notes is a good way to increase the brand loyalty, adding a discount code and also encouraging reviews is good. You can also use custom packaging to print this too, and it can help create a special, more meaningful unboxing experience.

Add a little bit of festivity

If you use bags for your products, you can even get them on printed bags as well, which fit the dimensions of what you’re shipping out. This may cost a little bit more money, but it actually is a smart move, since it does offer a little bit of excitement for the holiday season, which other people may or may not have, and it can also get customers happy and excited for the holidays.

You also can add products that are like that by adding the brand name and logo. If you’re going to do this, you should definitely start right away.  Remember as well that when you do this, you want to make sure that it’s kept in an eco-friendly manner. The Three most common Problems with Packaging

When it comes to packaging, having the right kind of packaging is vital, and super important. With more and mor items being shipped to far-off locations than ever thought before lots of companies need to look at the best way to present all of their packaging. Companies also must consider the various issues that come with larger and more inflated requirements for packaging. Here are the three most common packaging problems that occur.

Protection Issues

We want something to be protected especially if we paid good money for it. Most of us have been there, where we get something, are excited to finally open it, and then it’s just broken and damaged. This is usually resolved through getting a replacement, but the problem is, the waiting period is long, frustrating, and it does lead to reviews that are negative, and future customer loss. While some of this is blamed on warehouse staff along with delivery drivers, the correct packaging is one of the most key factors that come out of this when it comes to protecting the items that are sent out as well. With custom packaging, you can make sure that nothing the company sends is damaged or is broken too.

Waste

Another big problem is the waste. By waste, we mean companies adding to much or too little packaging, and this eventually catches up in the long haul too, hurting the company both environmentally, and financially too. Customers don’t appreciate cleaning up packaging after they receive it, and too much packaging is something that’s a big no-no for businesses too. You want to make sure that the packaging that’s used is good for the environment and is safe for it too.

Sustainability

As more and more companies are going for green initiatives, there is a great deal of influence and responsibility that comes with the image overall. Now, more than ever before, customers want eco-friendly products and packaging, and want to feel confident in the companies that they support and buy from as well.

There are different things you can do with this one. The best way to do this one is to look at the different kinds of packaging, and to see if there is something sort of changes you can make with this. Custom packaging is something that’s tricky too though, since a ton of suppliers usually make things the wrong or weird shape, but with a proper packaging supplier, this can be something that’s a thing of the past.

You can definitely find someone that understands how to just make your packaging good for long-distance shipping, minimizes damage without going too crazy with the packaging. These three problems are where a ton of brands need to look at when they’re trying to make sure that they get the right packaging, and through the improving of packaging, you’ll be able to easily and creatively make the right choices. For a lot of people, building the right packaging business and brand is good for you, and you’ll be able to, with this as well, be able to vie customers what they want.

You also can, with this too, also fix the other problematic packaging aspect, which is time. get quick packaging from a packaging supplier that doesn’t break the bank, is good for the environment, and also is not too excessive, but also accounts for the bumps and jars along the way. When you look into this, and you do take the proper precautions, you’ll be able to build a better, more rewarding packaging experience for your business as well.

Popular paper grades in packaging

A lot of industries and manufacturers do offer various materials that business owners can try out. With a lot of options, you may wonder the type of material that you want to use, since paperboard is the most common type, it’s versatile, and it comes in a variety of different grades of paper. There are different types, and it’s important to understand the difference between each.

Clay-coated News Backboard

Also known as CCNB, this is one that’s made from a combination of newsprint that’s recycled a mixed paper that’s secondary, and older corrugated kinds of containers. This is definitely used for folding cartons that are at a lower cost due to the quality of the printing and the lower tensile strength.

Pet products, detergent, and other cartons use this. They do absorb a lot of water when the get wet, and while it is cost effective, this is usually one that a lot of people don’t use, simply because of how weak I tis the second water gets involved.

Solid Bleached Sulfate

This is a board type that’s the best for packaging of products, since it does pulp the fibers and proceeds to bleach it. It’s then refined, created into boxes, and the quality of the white parts of this on the outside and inside make the printing optimal.

It’s good for debossing and embossing, spot UV printing, along with hot foil stamping since it does offer a higher grade quality. Confectionary, tobacco products, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and items that are baked usually use these kinds of products for their packaging.

Folding Box board

This is one that’s made from a mechanically manufactured kind of material that is basically a pulp that’s been created to become more durable and strong too. The surface of this tend sot be smoother, offering the best opportunities for also making sure that you can get the best offset printing out there.

While SBS is something that’s made from the total chemical pulp period, the folding box board uses a composition that’s stiffer, and much better. Both of these do utilize a virgin fiber that’s great for product packaging of all kinds. This is used for foods, different cosmetics, various pharmaceuticals, and also is used as one of the top substrates for packaging especially in India, because of how versatile this is.

Kraft and Coated unbleached Kraft

This is a type of packaging that’s something that’s becoming more and more popular since recycled packaging is becoming a lot more popular. Most of this is made from an unbleached wood pulp, and it is something that’s thicker, and much more durable in terms of construction. This is coated with polyethylene resins, and this is something that’s food-safe, and best for takeout too.

This is versatile, safe for food, makes everything a lot more tear-resistant, and also is sturdy to grease and water, and great for those who want printing that is of a higher quality. While this is tear resistant, sturdy, and durable, this is also made with a clay that coats the top of it, which makes it one of the best for printing options. It’s important though that if you do use this, you consider the color of the packaging. It has the brown color from the wood pulp, so you should be mindful of the colors that are used.

They’re great for a lot of packaging that offers a feel that’s natural.

There are tons of other options, and you also need to look at the strength, durability, and the thickness of this, in order to figure out the best product for you.
